Circle of Blood - Chapter One - Night Battle at Mercal

Hello and welcome to our second campaign here on Tales from the Auld World! While last time we were doing a campaign of our own devising, this time we're revisiting a classic:

The Huixtlan Campaign - Chapter Five - The Battle of Huixtlan

Previous chapters in this campaign: Chapter OneChapter TwoChapter ThreeChapter Four

Welcome back all! In today's Tales from the Auld World, the Huixtlan campaign comes to a head. The survivors of the temple raid stumble out into the sunlight (Captain Hans who stole Ticotl's feather cloak perhaps stumbling more than the rest due to the confusion of the new voices in his head). Ahead they see the other half of the Imperial expedition led by Oranje, but getting to them will mean running the gauntlet, as Lizardmen approach from one side and the remaining Elves from the other. All the actors are gathered; the stage is set for the decisive battle of the campaign...

The Battle

Emerging from the temple at Huixtlan, Timon mounts the War Altar and puts his surviving men to the arduous task of pulling it beneath him.

The Huixtlan Campaign - Chapter Four - Raiders of the Lost Temple

Previous chapters in this campaign: Chapter OneChapter TwoChapter Three

Welcome back everyone, to what's going to be a slightly different instalment of Tales from the Auld World. Today we follow the survivors of the Lizardmen ambush as they venture into the temple city of Huixtlan. Unlike previous games where we've used prewritten scenarios and the normal Warhammer rules, this time we wrote the scenario ourselves, and modified the rules so each model acted individually. If you're interested in the scenario we wrote, you can find it, along with a few other scenarios and rules for Warhammer and other games, here (the document called "Warhammer - Raiders of the Lost Temple").

But without further ado, let's get on with the game...

The Huixtlan Campaign - Chapter Three - Lord Melchin's Grand Adventure

Previous chapters in this campaign: Chapter OneChapter Two

Hello and welcome to another instalment of Tales from the Auld World. We’re taking a break from the Empire and High Elves we’ve been following so far to see how the other half of the Imperial expedition are getting on (spoiler: not well). The scenario this time is Lord Melchin's Grand Adventure from the 6th edition Lustria book, where one army takes on an enemy force twice its size, but with the advantage of surprise. Today the ambushers are the Lizardmen, so let’s meet their leaders…

The Huixtlan Campaign - Chapter Two - The Folly of Prince Rodrik

Previous chapters in this campaign: Chapter One

Welcome back to Tales from the Auld World! After their initial encounter last time, our Imperial and Elven jungle explorers arranged a prisoner swap, but this civilised affair is about to be rudely interrupted by the local wildlife…

The scenario is the Folly of Prince Rodrik from the 6th edition Lustria book, where a group of heroes have to fight an entire army! To escape, the Empire and High Elves will be working together for once (or at least not killing each other). The opposition is the Lost Valley of the Carnosaurs, an army list from White Dwarf consisting entirely of dinosaurs! If that wasn’t enough, from this game onwards we start using the Events and Encounters rules from the Lustria book, which add carnivorous plants, swarms of killer insects and more. So with our bag of toy dinosaurs at the ready, let’s begin…

The Battle

As the two delegations meet in the ruins for their prisoner swap, the dinosaurs emerge from the trees...

The Huixtlan Campaign - Chapter One - Surprise Encounter

For the first campaign we want to share with you we're going both across the World Pond and back in time, to the mysterious jungles of Lustria and the 6th edition campaign book thereof:

Here be dinosaurs! Raargh!

But the first game is actually the Surprise Encounter scenario from the Old World rulebook, as Empire and High Elf expeditions stumble across each other amidst the jungle. Before that however, let's meet the main characters of our story...
